Occlusal guard or Night guards are custom-made trays that cover all the teeth of either the upper or lower jaw. The purpose of this tray is to avoid contact of the teeth when abnormal funtioning is performed like clenching or grinding of the teeth. This helps prevent fracture or any kind of damage to the teeth or other restorations in the mouth thereby preventing future high cost expenses of restoring them.
